About

Lana Noemi Mingasson is a NYC based designer with a focus on intimate embroidery and playful tailoring, blending creative uses of technology with intimate handcraft techniques. Her work explores the ties between community, dress and craft, highlighting how embroidery can memorialize moments and emotions into a garment. She approaches design through a research based lens and uses her work as an opportunity to explore parts of herself and the world that don’t get enough representation in the arts and beyond.

She was awarded the CFDA Design Scholar Award 2025 and finalized for the CFDA Design Scholar Award for Innovative Approaches to DEI.

She has worked across the city as an embroiderer and design assistant, most recently with Thom Browne and Oscar de la Renta. Her experience spans across the digital and physical, with expertise in digital and flat patternmaking, CADs, embroidery, and garment construction. Her experience in production positions gives her insight on trims and fabric sourcing, preparing and executing cut tickets, and communicating with external production companies.
