My name is Lana Noemi Mingasson, I’m a designer and maker studying and working in NYC. The main focus of my practice is intimate embroidery and playful tailoring. My work explores the ties between community, dress and craft, highlighting how embroidery can memorialize moments and emotions into a garment. I love exploring other crafts like crochet, felt work, toy making, and small-scale metal work. I approach design through a research based lens and use my work as an opportunity to explore parts of myself and the world that I feel don't get enough representation in the arts world and beyond.
